A bit of filler in these five, but a plan for a counter offensive starts, and a couple of additional complications - Narratra's return and Meeman escaping - are fun additions to the arc. Plus the filler is at least entertaining enough filler. In modern Sandy, where I rarely pace out story arcs so that they're in the majority of battles, I don't think battles that aren't contributing towards the current storyarc are as noticeable and therefore - hopefully - don't feel like filler.
Battle 46
Battle 46 is largely filler in the context of the arc, but it's cute filler that plays with a concept that Red introduced - Players refusing to fight - in a different way. The ogre letting folk pass when presenting it with anything (including a punch and a lecture) leading up to Davis presenting it with his brain power getting stopped because that's less than nothing is a cute gag, as is the ending of the ogre stealing Davis's footwear while he's fainted leading to the splinter related torment. Also some cute gags with the ENH being a hologram and disembodied.
Battle 47
Battle 47 is an anniversary special with the then Red tradition of having the original player character as the player. And Meeman's gone slightly doolally because Dave never sends him out. This is a theme I kind of returned to in modern Sandy with the psychological impact being caught had on Jacob, though I treated it in a lot... Sillier... a manner here.
Meeman's anger at Dave for both catching him and not letting him out leading to him killing a 'nearly unstoppable' creature is kind of funny, as is him being angry enough to just... Destroy his Pokéball once let out. And I also like Veemon peacing out after Meeman blows SVWebmaster away. The rest of the battle is... Fine.
Battle 48
Battle 48 is more filler, but does change Hauntra's text colour to be easier to do the HTML for, and just "Yeah this is so that it's easier" being stated in the text makes me smile. As is the idea of green mould caused by not cleaning out a bath being a 'fearsome creature'. As is a series of name changing attacks gradually causing it to change to an FF7 summon (Another theme I returned to in modern Sandy with Horrace's Pokémon, come to think of it).
I quite like the gimmick of Sheep keeping on queuing up attacks for later by accident, and the opponent's attacks basically doing nothing. And beating the opponent while still having attacks saved up.
Battle 49
Battle 49 opening with some exposition about how Hauntra works and very silly jokes about the ENH singing is cute, particularly with the London Bridge stuff bridging into the actual plot with a breach into the plot flow works decently well.
There's a typo where it should say 'plot hole' rather than 'comma', and the exposition of Stemi telling various folk what to do is a little long winded, but that leaving Hauntra with Plot B's Dave, Davis and Veemon after they've been talking about Hauntra being dangerous is a cute touch, and I do quite like having this end on a cliffhanger.
Battle 50
Battle 50 is, as was often the case for those few versions that hit 50, a 'return to life' battle. Only Sandy had dead Narrators. And a dead character who's been in battles since due to cloning.
Narrator accidentally telling Narratra that Narrational entities can get through is a cute touch, as is the gag about The Land of the Dead only being big enough for one narrational entity, with Dave piping up that it's infinite.
I do like the string of wordplay of the two opposed Narrational entities bouncing attacks off each other into nothing, with Dave just being... Completely helpless (and turned into a bathtub full of gravy) in the wake of it all.
I also like that Narratra stopped playing when... Well, it's hard to tell if it's Narrator's misogyny or talking down about the way Narratra's speaking that sends her into a rage and just... Demolishes Narrator with a giant font and reducing the size of Narrator's (but not Dave's) in the process.
I also enjoy
NARRATOR was SENT into a COMMA!
Shouldn't that be coma?
NO!
It's short, but there's a lot of stuff about this battle that I like.
